September Update

Things are beginning to shape up. I will begin with limited office hours on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons - from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The Quick Books classes are beginning to take form and will be held at the QCenter in North Portland. I expect the class to be small - only 5 students total. The sessions will be two hours per week for four weeks. More details will follow soon.

The Fall will be busy with the wind down of my responsibilities at OHSU - my official last day there will be October 31st and the ramping up of Accounting for Non Profits.

I will also take on a limited number of individual and corporate tax returns for the coming tax season.

Friday Update

So - I have let my boss at OHSU know that I am looking to leave my current postion. It just didn't seem right to not be up front and honest about my plans.

We have set a goal to have a replacement for me on board and trained by November 1st.

Announcement ads are set to be in the October issues of Just Out!

This week - I have accomplished alot toward this task of re-establishing myself working within the non profit community. Next big task is to find my class location - probably going to use the Q-Center and do the schedule.

Here's to a successful launch!

Day two transition

The transition has begun. I am back at my work at OHSU and will be wrapping things up over the next six weeks.

The initial response from my announcement is positive! The office space is currently vacant. Matt joyfully moved is bedroom upstairs yesterday. I'll wait for this latest heat wave to pass before moving the office furniture into the space.

I am planning the training calendar to begin in early January 2010. I'll get out the dates and registration infomation by the end of next week.

Accounting for Non Profits

Accounting for Non Profits is re-opening effective October 1, 2009. After two stressful years at OHSU, I have re-discovered my passion for our smaller non profit community. Therefore, I will begin taking new clients as of October 1, 2009. My intent is to provide my services to small to medium size non profit organizations in the Pacific Northwest.

I will personally provide prepare Tax filings (Form 990) and audit prep services. I have various bookkeepers to provide services to organizations who need help in this area.

Around the first of January 2010 - I will begin providing training sessions for bookkeepers in non profits and financial planning & budgeting workshops for Executive Directors and Board Members.

Look for announcements on CNRG and in Just Out for further details!
